We had such a GREAT time celebrating Cassidy's first birthday!! So many friends and family traveled up to our home to celebrate Cassidy with us and the party turned out so well. Thank you to everyone who came to help us celebrate our little girl. We have such a great support network and we are so grateful for the year we've had with this precious blessing in our life.
Easter weekend was complete with a Nerf war between Harrison and James, a road trip to Papa Mark's house, easter egg hunt and easter baskets! Pictures galore:
I wish I could say I have a good excuse for flaking on the blog, but really...it's just very time consuming and when you are chasing after a 10 year old on spring break, a 1 year old crawling frantically towards (and up) the stairs, working a fulltime job and managing a household- it gets a little bit busy. and exhausting. And at the end of the day, the last thing I want to do is talk to the anonymous internet about everything that is going on.
But.
Today was a good day. Harrison is stir-crazy with cabin fever (rain during spring break). Cassidy has another cold and is refusing to rest. And all the crazies came out of the wood work and found my office phone number to call.
But, it was still a good day.

It's Opening Day for baseball season...we love baseball season and make a point of getting to as many games as we can. We are looking forward to taking Cassidy to her first game soon - I've loaded up on sunscreen already.
Here she is sporting her "Dodger blue" - the Dodgers are playing the SF Giants (the local team) and she's rooting for LA!
The last few weekends we have had so much fun exploring some new things in Sacramento. First we took Harrison and Cassidy to the Crocker Art Museum. Harrison was actually very excited and just kept saying "I've never been to an art museum before" like he was being very sophiscated by going to Crocker. Crocker is a very old, very wealthy family in the Northern California area. In fact, they helped connect the railroad from Promintory Point in Utah to San Fransisco, stopping in Sacramento along the way. So their museum is located in a very historic old mansion near the Capitol in downtown Sacramento. We all enjoyed the museum but I think Harrison enjoyed running around an old mansion even more.
It was beautiful, but I couldn't take any pictures of the actual art that we saw...go figure.
